Side Table Roentgen
Waxed Black Finish
With Side Table Roentgen, Eichholtz offers a sculptural table that anchors the interior with composed elegance. The Met x Eichholtz introduces the Side Table Roentgen, a refined nod to 18th-century craftsmanship reimagined in a bold black finish.
Featuring a pierced gallery top and a fluted column base, this entirely black rendition echoes the graceful proportions and ingenious functionality of its historic predecessor. Though simplified in color, the table retains its timeless architectural elegance.
HISTORIC PROVENANCEThis design is inspired by the ingenuity of an 18th-century German-made tilt-top table at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Originally designed with rotating and tilting capabilities, the Museums table allowed a host to serve tea in privacy, without the presence of servants.
Eichholtz reinterprets the tables form with modern restraint while honoring its innovation. Crafted to Eichholtz standards, it balances timeless poise with practical ease—designed to layer effortlessly into contemporary and classic spaces alike.
Thoughtful materials and considered scale create a lasting impression, inviting daily use while preserving an unmistakably refined presence. The design is completed with Waxed black finish, showcasing the brand’s focus on texture and depth. Subtle detailing and intended for indoor use/dry locations only ensure it sits naturally within layered, thoughtfully curated schemes. Used as part of a curated arrangement or as a singular statement, this sculptural table enriches the atmosphere with a calm, confident character. Each detail is considered to balance proportion, surface, and silhouette, resulting in an object that feels at once contemporary and timeless. The overall impression is one of understated opulence, allowing the surrounding architecture, art, and lighting to complete the story of the space.
