CARE

Care Instructions for Rug Osumi 118" x 157.5"

(White, Hand Tufted, 90% New Zealand Wool, 7% Cotton, 3% Polyester Pile, Wool)

Daily Maintenance

  • Vacuum the rug regularly on a low-suction setting, avoiding rotary brushes that can damage the fibres.
  • Rotate the rug every few months so that wear and sunlight exposure remain evenly distributed.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth working from the outside of the spill inward.

Cleaning the Main Material

  • Wipe metal surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and immediately follow with a dry cloth to prevent water marks.
  • For stubborn fingerprints or smudges, use a cleaner that is suitable for the specific metal finish, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Avoid ammonia-based, acidic, or abrasive cleaners that can damage protective coatings.

Caring for Secondary Materials

  • Apply the same gentle, pH-neutral cleaning approach to any additional trims or hardware, avoiding harsh or abrasive products.

Placement & Protection

  • Use a suitable rug underlay to provide grip, cushioning, and improved air circulation.
  • Keep the rug away from areas where spills are frequent if possible, or use additional protection when entertaining.
  • Avoid placing heavy furniture on the same points for long periods without repositioning occasionally.

Handling & Use

  • Lift seating pieces or rugs when repositioning rather than pushing or pulling them, especially on delicate floors.
  • Avoid standing or jumping on parts of the piece so the frame, fillings, and fibres remain in good condition.

Long-Term Preservation

  • Arrange for professional rug cleaning at intervals recommended for the fibre type and level of use.
  • Regularly check the rug underlay and replace it if it loses grip or cushioning.
  • Continue to rotate the rug so that light and wear remain balanced over the years.
