CARE
Care Instructions for Box Faro
(Natural Mappa Burl Veneer, Wood, Fabric)
Daily Maintenance
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, always following the direction of the wood grain.
- Wipe spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface thoroughly — standing moisture can damage wood finishes.
- Vacuum upholstery weekly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and prevent dirt from settling into the fibres.
- Gently smooth and rotate cushions regularly to redistribute filling and maintain an even shape.
Cleaning the Main Material
- Use a cleaner specifically formulated for finished wood surfaces, applied sparingly with a soft cloth.
- Avoid all-purpose sprays, ammonia-based products, and silicone polishes, which can build up and dull the finish over time.
- For oiled wood, follow the manufacturer’s guidance on re-oiling frequency to maintain the protective layer.
- Clean fabric surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and a pH-neutral, upholstery-safe cleaner when needed.
- Always test any new cleaner on a hidden area first to ensure it does not affect the colour or texture.
Caring for Secondary Materials
- Vacuum fabric elements gently with a soft brush attachment and blot any spills immediately.
Placement & Protection
- Use felt pads, coasters, or trivets to protect wood surfaces from heat, moisture rings, and scratches.
- Position away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent warping, cracking, or uneven colour fading.
- Maintain a stable indoor humidity level (ideally 40–60 %) to prevent the wood from swelling or shrinking.
Handling & Use
- Lift from the base or sturdiest section when repositioning. Avoid gripping by decorative elements.
Long-Term Preservation
- Give the piece a thorough clean several times a year, including less accessible areas.
- Inspect periodically for any signs of wear or damage and address them promptly.
