Infuse your space with the historical charm and timeless beauty of this exquisite design, which is part of the Met x Eichholtz Metropolitan Collection collection. HISTORIC PROVENANCE The Bar Stool Roumier reflects the opulence of a French armchair from 1788 in The Met collection. The original was one of 16 armchairs commissioned from the master chairmaker Georges Jacob (French, 1739–1814) for Louis XVI′s gaming room at Saint Cloud.
Our dining chair celebrates the neoclassical elegance and meticulous artisanship of Jacob’s designs. Crafted to Eichholtz standards, it balances timeless European sensibility with modern ease — a statement design that layers comfortably into living, dining, or bedroom settings. CARE
Care Instructions for Bar Stool Roumier
(Palmer Beige, Black Legs, Fabric, Wood, Palmer)
Daily Maintenance
- Vacuum the surfaces weekly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and prevent dirt from settling into the fibres.
- Gently smooth and shake cushions to redistribute filling and keep the silhouette tailored.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing, which can push liquids deeper into the fabric.
Cleaning the Main Material
- Clean the main fabric with a slightly damp cloth and a pH-neutral, upholstery-safe cleaner when needed.
- Always test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it does not affect colour or texture.
- Do not saturate the fabric with water and avoid steam cleaning unless recommended by a professional.
Caring for Secondary Materials
- Wipe wooden accents with a soft, slightly damp cloth and immediately dry them to protect the finish.
- Avoid silicone polishes or aggressive sprays on wood trims.
Placement & Protection
- Keep the piece away from direct sunlight where possible to help prevent fading of fabrics or leather.
- Avoid placing it directly against radiators or air vents so that temperature changes remain gentle.
- If placed on delicate flooring, use protective glides or a rug to shield the floor from pressure marks.
Handling & Use
- Lift seating pieces or rugs when repositioning rather than pushing or pulling them, especially on delicate floors.
- Avoid standing or jumping on parts of the piece so the frame, fillings, and fibres remain in good condition.
Long-Term Preservation
- Schedule a deeper clean every few months, following textile or leather care guidance to refresh the upholstery.
- Rotate cushions and, where possible, reposition seating in the room occasionally to distribute wear evenly.
- Inspect feet, glides, and fixings periodically and tighten or replace as needed.
