HISTORIC PROVENANCE The Bar Stool Roumier reflects the opulence of a French armchair from 1788 in The Met collection. Measuring W. 22.5″ × D. 23.0″ × H. 42.5″, it has been proportioned to command attention without overwhelming the room.

The upholstery composition — 60% viscose | 40% polyester — has been selected for its balance of softness, resilience and visual depth.

Whether placed as the centrepiece of a carefully curated lounge or as an accent alongside complementary Eichholtz furniture, the Bar Stool Roumier transforms any setting into a sanctuary of understated opulence. CARE

Care Instructions for Bar Stool Roumier

(Palmer Beige, Black Legs, Metal, Fabric)

Daily Maintenance

  • Dust metal surfaces regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to prevent build-up that can dull the finish.
  • Wipe light smudges or fingerprints gently with a dry cloth to maintain a clean appearance.
  • Vacuum upholstery weekly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and prevent dirt from settling into the fibres.
  • Gently smooth and rotate cushions regularly to redistribute filling and maintain an even shape.

Cleaning the Main Material

  • Wipe metal surfaces with a soft, barely damp cloth and follow immediately with a dry cloth to prevent water marks.
  • For stubborn fingerprints or smudges, use a cleaner specifically formulated for the metal’s finish type.
  • Avoid ammonia-based, acidic, or abrasive cleaners that can damage protective coatings and lacquered finishes.
  • Clean fabric surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and a pH-neutral, upholstery-safe cleaner when needed.
  • Always test any new cleaner on a hidden area first to ensure it does not affect the colour or texture.

Caring for Secondary Materials

  • Vacuum fabric elements gently with a soft brush attachment and blot any spills immediately.

Placement & Protection

  • Keep upholstered items away from direct sunlight to help prevent fabric fading and fibre degradation over time.
  • Avoid placing near radiators or heating vents, as dry heat can cause fabrics to become brittle.
  • If placed on delicate flooring, use protective glides or felt pads to shield the floor from pressure marks.

Handling & Use

  • Lift the bar & counter stool when repositioning rather than pushing or dragging, to protect both the piece and the floor.
  • Avoid sitting on armrests or leaning heavily on edges, which can stress the frame and distort the upholstery over time.

Long-Term Preservation

  • Schedule a professional deep clean annually to refresh the upholstery and extend its life.
  • Rotate and redistribute cushions regularly to ensure even wear across all seating positions.
  • Inspect feet, glides, and structural fixings periodically and tighten or replace as needed.
